Picnic at the Park

Today was a gorgeous day to get out and enjoy the weather. Avery and I sent daddy off to school to work on his midterms and then packed up a sack lunch for the park. Avery had a great time on the slides and 'driving' around with the steering wheels. There were some other little kids there and she is learning to take turns and share which is fun to see. One little boy cut our trip short when he started peeing his pants a couple feet away from Avery on the playground. Luckily, I grabbed her before she got any on her, but no attempts to clean the mess or the boy up were made so we took our blanket to a shady spot by the car.

I LOVE this new dress! She walks around trying to blow on the dandelions to make them fly.

Cheese!

We had a great lunch and it was nice for both of us to get out the house!

Relaxing and looking at the leaves.

Love this sweetie!

Little Hands, Little Treasures

A few gems from our afternoon hunting down treasures in the front yard.

She especially loved finding the really 'crunchy' leaves!

 Posing with mommy

I love her fascination with all the things she discovers every day!

I am so grateful to be her mommy

Makeover

You know that moment when you turn your back on a toddler to get the tiniest thing done? That split second when your focus goes to something other than the sticky hands and nursery rhymes? Those moments usually end up to be some of the more adventurous ones for Avery and today didn't disappoint. I was getting ready in the bathroom, which feels like such a rarity these days, and turned around to find this:

I guess we've progressed to unscrewing lids because she found an extra mascara and had immediately started applying it to her eyes, eyebrows,

and was quite disappointed to find that she had somehow
managed to get it all over her hands and arms!

All in all, I  think she considered it a success. I'm just grateful it didn't end up on her shirt. She sure keeps me on my toes, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Witchefest at Gardner Village

Still no pictures from Brian's laptop, but I thought I'd post today anyway. Avery and I spent the morning at Gardner Village with the MBA Spouses. The Village is all decorated for Halloween and so fun! It was a gorgeous morning and we had a great time finding all the different witches on their scavenger hunt!

Avery's favorite part was finding the ducks in the pond and pointing out all the witches and pumpkins.

They had some really fun witches all through the Village

Some of the group eating lunch

We had such a great time and the Village was pretty empty because it was a weekday morning. I definitely recommend doing this with your kids/family. I love this munchkin!

A Few Shots

We took Avery out yesterday afternoon and shot a few pictures in her flower girl dress. There was definitely some bribing and a whole lot of coaxing, but we managed to get some cute pictures out of her.

 I love these two!

A shot of my growing tummy!

I just want to eat her! So cute!

This one is my favorite.

I planned to post more today, but all our summer pictures are on Brian's laptop.
I will do more when I can pull them off his ever-busy laptop.

Jenny's Wedding

We spent the weekend in Blanchard, ID for Brian's sister's wedding and Avery was the flower girl. I wish I had taken more pictures, but saying it was a busy busy weekend would be a complete understatement!

Avery was a beautiful flower girl, and although the many practice runs went well, during the actual ceremony she refused to throw the flowers. The whole way down the isle she was yelling "Oh no! Oh no!!" every time flowers would fall. Brian did a great job escorting her and acting as flower girl in her stead.

It was a beautiful ceremony and the weather was gorgeous! Jenny was a beautiful bride and Donovan is a lucky, lucky guy! It was so fun to see the whole family and celebrate together- we're so spread out that it's a rarity. Avery did great driving the 14 hours to Blanchard and then back again without any potty accidents or major tantrums. We had a great weekend and send all our love and congratulations to Donovan and Jenny!
